When I was hesitating about whether I should develop this idea of university staff, I did a street interview asking people their opinions about university staff. I ask all of them the same question: Do you think university staff is as much important as academic staff? 70% of them answered me with no because most of them only consider university staff as cleaners and maintenance workers. I’m not saying they are not important to our university, I’m saying that most of people haven’t pay enough attention to university staff because they don’t even know that there are so many people doing their job perfectly just for us to be able go to classes everyday. That’s why I want to write about university staff, the ones who support the operation of UW-Madison in the back, the ones who make UW-Madison such a great place to be.
